How did you enter into your industry?
Entering the beauty industry is not something I ever thought I would do. I graduated Auburn University with a degree in Rehabilitation/Disability studies and worked in Behavioral Therapy one year post grad. I made the decision to move out of Auburn to broaden my horizons and live in a city that wasn't necessarily comfortable for me. When talking to my spray tan artist and owner of Tanology (while also in for a spray tan), she mentioned that she was opening up a studio in Birmingham + needed someone to run it for her. The doors that the Lord opened shortly after this small conversation is what brought me into one of the most rewarding careers.

Did you always know you wanted to have this career?
I did not! In fact, this is not something that was in my career plan post college. However, I couldn't be more grateful the Lord led me to these people and this industry.

If you could tell yourself one thing when you first started your career, what would it be?
Trust that the lord has you right where he wants you. With great risk, comes great reward.

How do you manage imposter syndrome?
Don't make perfection the goal. When starting a new job, for myself, there is a weight of not wanting to mess up or fail. Fear of failure is a real thing and nipping it in the bud right in the moment has helped me tremendously. A quote from one of my favorite books of all time, Get out of your head, is written on my bathroom mirror and I remind myself of it daily. "Our emotions lead us to thoughts, and those thoughts dictate my decisions, and our decisions determine my behaviors, and my behaviors shape my relationships, all of which would take me back to either healthy or unhealthy thoughts." -Jennie Allen

If you could go back and tell your teenage self advice what would it be?
Take a breather and trust that the Lord is going to make each and every part of your story work for his glory. Do not be afraid to get out of your comfort zone to try new things.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
When I am not working typically I am either somewhere watching Auburn Football/Basketball play (War Eagle) or in the warmer months Lake Martin, AL.

Name 3 things you cannot live without
Coffee, my bible, and my Buxom lip gloss

What are you currently listening to? Podcast?

How do you get yourself out of a funk when you are having an off day?

What would surprise us about yourself?
I am 1/4 Korean. My grandmother is 100% Korean and lived with my parents growing up. I speak a little and can understand a little. But if you heard my thick southern accent you wouldn't believe me.

What is the best advice you have received?
There is so much growth in seasons where you feel most uncomfortable.
