emerald City in Music City

Clicking our Heels three times to take us back to the Fairlane Hotel

This month for our Nashville Chapter, we followed the yellow brick road and it led us to connections + light bites, themed cocktails + women supporting women at this Halloween Pop-Up Bar hosted by the Fairlane Hotel.

The theme was Emerald City and guests were invited to wear green or dress up as character from Wizard of the Oz. We had door prizes for best dressed, celebrated two member birthdays and enjoyed the crisp fall air outside on the Fairlane’s Terrace enjoying the Nashville Skyline.

With the theme as Emerald City and playing off the Wizard of Oz I wanted to share three reasons why you should join Heels.

  1. The Heart: The Tin Man represented the theme of humanity and the importance of having a heart. With our membership, we have a division called “Heels Has Heart” where we volunteer our time and/or resources quarterly to a local non-profit that aligns with our mission of women empowerment. We also believe in relationships first. Yes, we have over 200+ members and we do send business to each other but at the end of the day we are here to connect women and put relationships first.

  2. . The Brain: We believe in continuous learning and innovation in the ever-evolving business world. We encouraged attendees to nurture their curiosity and adaptability, reminding them that intelligence and wisdom are earned through experience and continuing education. We provide quarterly educational workshops complimentary to our members to advance their education and professional development.

  3. The Courage: In the Wizard of Oz the Cowardly Lion founds their inner courage to prevail. Within our organization, we provide tools to help our women find their inner courage as well. One of those tools is something we call, S.T.R.U.T.S which stands for “Share, Teach, Recognize, Uplift, and Toot your own Horn.” We encourage our attendees at every month to share their wins out loud in front of everyone. We want our members to feel confident when they are saying their accolades and by sharing a S.T.R.U.T. this gives them a “permission slip” each month.

If you were unable to join us last month, the Nashville Chapter meets monthly in-person. To see our future meetings, click here.

Huge thank you to our partners: Fairlane Hotel, Kera Photography and Kenect Nashville for making this meeting a huge success.
