Lauren is a Financial Advisor with Thrivent. She’s married to her wonderful husband, Andy, and a proud dog mom to their rescue pup, Remy. She’s honored to be a lifelong Tennessean. Growing up in Chattanooga, she went to college in Knoxville, and now resides in Nashville. After nearly a decade serving in higher education and nonprofit organizations, She pivoted her career because she believes that she can make a real impact in people's lives through their finances, by offering clarity on where they are today and confidence for where they’ll be tomorrow. She believes humanity thrives when individuals make the most of all they've been given.

How did you enter into your industry?
I worked as a tour guide on Lookout Mountain through the summers in college. Then, I worked my way up in the events industry, specifically in Higher Education and Nonprofit Fundraising, and in 2021 I pivoted from being a steward of donor dollars to a steward of personal and business dollars. I have loved giving back in a different way and have a lot of financial event ideas in store!
What brought you to Nashville?
Fundraising work, 5 years ago. My favorite hidden gem (from my Nashville native hubby) would be Sam's Place, hands down the best chicken tenders in Nashville.
Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
You'll find me at a class at CrossFit West Nashville!

What is the best advice you have received?
To never judge yourself for the 'mistakes' you may have felt that you made before you had the information that you do now. Onward & upward!
What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?
Listening to a lot of personal/career development these days. My favorite is The Adviser Checkup Podcast by Kelly Palmer. She launched this year, and does a great job of letting people into the world that I live in. Music wise, there's a lot of show tunes on my playlists. I can always turn on the Hamilton soundtrack to get in a motivational mood.
What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?
Helping women realize the earning power that they have and will have, and putting systems in place to protect and grow that power! I know firsthand the feeling of intimidation and confusion that the financial industry has placed on many people, especially women, and I'm here to help far-off dreams turn into reality. Every day, I am so proud to work with women, families, individuals, small businesses, and nonprofits sow seeds for their financial futures.
What would surprise us about yourself?
On that note, I was in musical theatre and was actually a competitive vocalist in middle/high school. My dreams of Broadway were in NYC and not downtown Nashville. Ha!
