In Her Heels with Jennifer McKannan

“Your quality of life will improve in direct correlation with the amount of uncomfortable conversations you are willing to have.”

Picture this: as Jennifer glides through neighborhoods, she doesn't just see houses – she envisions the stories they hold, the laughter echoing in the hallways, and the dreams that unfold behind those charming front doors. Her energy is contagious, and her enthusiasm is the secret sauce that turns a simple property tour into a carnival of excitement!

This week we have the honor of going “In her Heels” with one of our Alabama Ambassadors, Jennifer McKannan and learn about her journey.

If you could tell yourself one thing when you first started your career, what would it be?
Be more process-focused than outcome-focused.

How do you manage imposter syndrome?
I lean on my community for encouragement and to remind myself how far I have come.

If you could go back and tell your teenage self advice what would it be?
People give advice and have opinions based on their life experience and their outlook, just because it is good advice, doesn't mean it is good advice for you. What you think of you is more important than what anyone else thinks of you.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
In a spin class or on our farm with our animals.

Name 3 things you cannot live without.
Coffee, Tequila, and a good workout.

What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?
Hustle Humbly Podcast.

How do you get yourself out of a funk when you are having an off day?
Go on a walk to regulate my nervous system or reach out to my community to help get out of my head.

What would surprise us about yourself?
I am very introverted. I can't survive without alone time to recharge.

What is the best advice you have received?
Your quality of life will improve in direct correlation with the amount of uncomfortable conversations you are willing to have.

What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?
I will never forget selling my very first house. I have learned so much since then but that gave me the confidence that I could do it. Then about a year and a half into the business having 5 things closing in one month. That was another big milestone that I was very proud of because it showed me I had a greater capacity to handle multiple transactions at one time.
