Heels & Handshakes -Meet A Member

Today we had the chance to learn a little more about Member, Lindsy Read with Music City Events.

Music City Events partners with you to provide expertise, ideas and experience to ensure your celebration is gorgeous, fun and everything you dreamed.Personal. Sophisticated. Couture.

How did you enter into the Hospitality industry?

My history in the hospitality industry started way back in middle school and high school leadership. I loved organizing school events. In college, I was the Student Union Activities Coordinator. I started photographing weddings in 2007 and moved to Nashville in 2014. I was too intimidated to re-launch my photography business and found Music City Events instead. I was hired as a planner and I've been planning weddings since then! Almost 7 years!

What Brought you to Nashville?

My husband is a musician and fell in love with Nashville long before I even got to visit. We moved here from Washington state in 2014, right after we finalized our first son's adoption. We love it here!

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?

On a non-event weekend, you can find me working on my house or out in the woods. We love to hike and we also have an unending list of home improvement projects.

Name 3 things you cannot live without?

My family, great music and bold lipstick.

What is the best advice you have received?

Keep your focus on loving people.

What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?

It's been a stressful year so I've been listening to Taylor Swift's quarantine album, "folklore." It's so relaxing. It came out the day before my first root canal and it saved my sanity while in the dentist's chair. I've also been enjoying Jen Hatmaker's "For the Love" Podcast.

Where can members connect with you?

Our website is amusiccityevent.com. My email is lindsy@amusiccityevent.com. Instagram: @musiccityevents @lindsyread and on Facebook.com/MusicCityEvents.

When Lindsy isn't out in the woods or hiking she also enjoys Cycle Haus Nashville. Lindsey joined us in our fundraiser back in October called Ride to Provide.
