Annual Heels Habits Luncheon Presented by Studio Bank
Boundaries, still working on them.
Last week, women in business from all corners of the community came together for the Heels and Habits Luncheon, and what a celebration it was! This program sold out two weeks prior and we had over 125 Women in Business in attendance. We broke bread, or should we say “salad”, and then attendees dived into empowering discussions about building habits that drive success—both in and out of the office.
The room buzzed with energy as connections were formed, ideas were shared, and heels clicked with purpose. Guests left inspired by keynote speakers who shared their journeys of turning daily habits into extraordinary results. It wasn’t just another luncheon; it was a stylish reminder that success happens when we blend passion with practical habits and support from a powerhouse network.
Here is a quick recap from our panel:
The 5 people you spend the most time with are often the most influential in your daily perspective (even if it is unintentional). Habits take trial and error and are tailored to the current circumstances of your life.We must be kind to ourselves. We must feed our minds with inspiring and positive words
Habits and routines must evolve as your life evolves. When life gets hectic, we might be more likely to be less mindful of the habits we need to maintain.
Mentors and your inner circle are essential to a healthy lifestyle. Find those you admire, see who their circles are, and seek them out. Mentors often want to give back, so pursue them.
Adapt the habits to what works for you. If audiobooks are a better fit, allow yourself to use audiobooks instead of beating yourself up for not reading hard-copy books.
Feed your brain. Listen to the stories of those you admire (How I Built This Podcast) and feed your brain content that fuels your mind. Be mindful of the content you consume that doesn't align.
Learn how you work best. If you are a night owl, honor that.
As a business owner, you have the opportunity to create the structure that fits you. Yes you may have to flex for the right amount of money, but overall you can maintain your consistent structure.
Self-care can be a personal goal. Hopefully, in 5 years I will be retired or doing the things I love.
Take time during the week to do the things that replenish you.
If a habit doesn't feel right, don't force it.
It's okay to say no and take that chance of missing out.
Even creative industries can have a degree of structure or consistency.
Getting information or insights about ourselves (like her ADHD diagnosis) can give us the understanding we need to be kinder to ourselves.
Positive affirmations for 1 year can change your mindset.
Our actions can change long-term narratives we have about ourselves.
We can't rely on motivation to get things done. Sometimes we have to do things even when motivation is at 15%.
Keep your circle tight and be selective about who you let in...they can impact your habits.
