Ride To Provide
Did you know October is Domestic Violence Awareness month? First off, this should be addressed all year long not just one month a year, but we need to start somewhere.
This past weekend, we partnered with the Cycle Haus Nashville to raise money for the Office of Family Safety (OFS). We are so grateful that Cycle Haus invited us into their studio. Natalie is a female boss babe and her studio is gorgeous and her instructors are incredible. I literally left the class feeling empowered and full of energy. Our instructor for the class, Megan was so encouraging and fun. She danced, she cheered, and did we mention her play list had Queen B?
We called this “Ride to Provide” as all the proceeds raised, helped fill the Office of Family Safety’s wish list for their two family justice centers—the Jean Crowe Advocacy Center (JCAC) and the Family Safety Center (FSC). This wishlist provides their facilities with resources for these centers.
Each building offers a safe and supportive environment as victims of domestic violence wait for court and navigate the legal system. All services are free and confidential and walk-ins are welcome.
The Jean Crowe Advocacy Center (JCAC) is the only fully court-based Family Justice Center in the country. The JCAC increases the safety of domestic and sexual violence victims by creating a supportive environment for victims to receive services while waiting for court. All services are free and confidential. Walk-ins are welcome.
At the JCAC, highly-trained advocates assist victims with the following:
Safety Planning
Danger Assessment
Court Accompaniment
Crisis Intervention
Support Group
Domestic Violence Education
Referrals to Partner Agencies
Emergency Food Assistance
Orders of Protection
