How did you enter into the hospitality industry?
My very first job at 16 was at a greenhouse. When the growing season ended I was bumped up to be the "cooler girl", cleaning and maintaining the floral cooler. Before you know it I was being mentored by the florist there and began my journey into floral design and events. I've been hooked ever since.

What brought you to Nashville? If you are a native, what is your favorite hidden gem of the city?
I moved to Nashville on Valentine's Day, 2019 to pursue my dream of building a wedding venue to create jobs for people with disabilities. I love this city and the spirit of hospitality that is everywhere here. I'm still working toward that dream while also building out my luxury floristry brand. My favorite hidden gems here are centered on my love of food and flowers. For food finds I love Big Al's (raspberry chicken is crazy good), and Taqueria el Alteno (a tiny taco truck on Murfreesboro road; order one of everything!!!). For flowers I love Bates Garden Center in White's Creek - I can't leave that place without at least a few things to brighten my patio.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
I love to spend time with my family, going to Nashville Shores, visiting Farmer's Markets, or passing the time dead-heading my petunias on the patio.

Name 3 things you cannot live without
My kiddo, my family, and flowers!

What is the best advice you have received?
Don't make big decisions on bad days. The hard stuff always passes so just stay the course.

What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?
I love to listen to books! I just finished Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo and I am now listening to Super Attractor by Gabrielle Bernstein. I also love the podcast "How I built this with Guy Raz".

What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?
I used to host prom outreaches for adults with disabilities. Though I certainly wasn't the first to host such an event, I was the first to actually document the process in an SOP that was over 100 pages with 90+ appendices, using the materials to train churches and organizations across the country to host their own events. This caught the attention of the Tim Tebow foundation and I gifted them the intellectual property that became the basis for their Night to Shine Event. It was good to see a dream grow into reality and then expand beyond my wildest expectations.

What would surprise us about yourself?
I am actually an ordained pastor. I worked in the non-profit world for many years championing inclusion and community outreach and engagement. I coordinated events mobilizing thousands of volunteers at a time. My hospitality / event experience goes well beyond petals and blooms!
