In Her Heels with Emily Winters of Strings For Hope.
Did you know these broken guitar strings can help women, who feel broken themselves?
Strings for Hope is a Social Enterprise that turns broken musical strings into quality jewelry. Their mission is to empower survivors of addiction, human trafficking, and domestic abuse through employment opportunities.
Let's learn more about CEO Emily Winters of Strings For Hope.
How did you enter into the hospitality industry?
I was asked to pop-up at differ corporate events with our product. That led us to working directly with the hospitality industry more. Now our product is carried in hotels and used as gifting clients.
What brought you to Nashville?
I am a Nashville native! One of the best kept secrets is 100 Taylor Art Collective. Which is where our office is along with the best coffee shop, Taylor St. Coffee.
Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?
At home binge watching TV shows or at one of my boyfriend's ultra marathon races "crewing".
Name 3 things you cannot live without
My friends, coffee, & music
What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?
Theo Von is my go to podcast when I want to laugh. Currently looking for a funny business podcast. The song Mirror by Sigrid motivates me. It is about liking what you see in the mirror, which is a struggle for all of us.
What is the best advice you have received?
To never get too comfortable. Some of the best business ideas & opportunities come out of uncomfortable change/growth.
What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?
I have successfully led a business for over 5 years, generated over a million dollars and provided part time or full time employment for over 100 women in the process.
What would surprise us about yourself?
I am super into dancing. A lot of people would not expect me to be the first girl to hit the dance floor.
